Welcome to Attuned Living

Hi!. Welcomed to Attuned Living Coaching and Counseling—where urgent unhurrying makes room to examine life, make sense of it, and move forward with intention

I’ve always been drawn to the landscape of the porch—the way it sits between the safety of home and the wildness of the world. In my years of work, I’ve found that most of us are looking for exactly what the Oak and Olive provide: the courage to stand and the peace to thrive. I built this practice to be a porch for you—a place where we can look at your roots and your harvest with equal honesty."

The Oak Path (Counseling): Healing from the ground up. We focus on the "old-growth" of your life—tending to the roots, processing the storms of the past, and reinforcing your structural integrity so you feel secure in your own skin again.

The Olive Path (Coaching): Cultivating a life of peace. We focus on the "harvest"—pruning away what’s dead, finding clarity in the noise, and intentionally growing the habits and mindsets that lead to a fruitful, peaceful future.

If the idea of stepping onto this porch feels right—maybe to lean on your inner Oak's endurance or to tend your Olive's quiet peace—know that I'm here. No agenda, no hurry. Just a safe space to breathe, speak, and move toward the life you want.

The Oak has been the 'King of Trees across nearly every major civilization, revered as a living bridge between the heavens and the earth.

In Greek and Roman heritage, the Oak was the sacred tree of Zeus, the Romans dedicated it to Jupiter. It was believed that the Oak was the first tree created, and its ability to attract lightning was seen as a sign of divine power and communication. To wear a crown of oak leaves was the highest honor a Roman soldier could receive. It was a symbol of having saved a life.

In the Hebrew Scriptures, the Oaks of Mamre provided the shade where Abraham hosted divine visitors. The oak represents stability and covenant. Isaiah speaks of 'Oaks of Righteousness,'describing people whoa are planted by God to display His splendor--trees that are not easily moved by the shifting sands of culture or circumstance

The Olive Tree, The Sacred Balm of Peace

While the oak represents the strength to stand, the Olive represents the power to heal and the wisdom to thrive. it is a tree that refuses to die, often living for over a thousand years.

Greek and Roman heritage: Athena won the patronage of Athens by gifting the city the first olive tree, which provided food, oil, and heat--a gift deemed more valuable that Poseidon's saltwater spring. In the ancient Olympic games, the olive was the ultimate symbol of Peace and Wisdom.

Bible significance: The olive is perhaps the most significant plant in the Bible. it appears as the first sign of hope after the flood, when a dove returns to Noah with an olive leaf. it is the source of the anointing oil used to set leaders apart such as Kings and prophets. Most poignantly, the Garden of Gethsemane literally means the oil press and was the olive grove where the most intense struggle of a human and divine struggle took place, the prayer of Jesus to accomplish the will of God. The tree is a symbol of perseverance through pressure and the birth of new life
